EV charger installation for homes and businesses

A permanently installed EV charger is both faster and safer than charging from an ordinary socket. We go through your fuse box, check the available capacity and install a charger that suits both the car and the property. Everything is connected by a qualified electrician and documented to current electrical safety requirements. We fit wall-mounted chargers from brands such as Wallbox, usually tethered with a Type 2 connector – the standard used by practically all new electric cars in Europe. Depending on your fuse box and car, that means an 11 kW or 22 kW charger.

Load balancing so there is power to spare

If you charge the car while the hob, washing machine and heating are all running, the main fuse can trip. With load balancing the charging power is adjusted automatically to what the rest of the household is drawing, so you avoid both tripped fuses and an expensive upgrade to your supply.

A qualified electrician you can rely on

Installing an EV charger is permanent electrical work and must be carried out by a qualified electrician. We are authorised by the Swedish National Electrical Safety Board, install to the manufacturer’s instructions and provide documentation for the work — so the warranty holds and the installation stays safe over time.

What does EV charger installation cost in Gothenburg?

The price depends on the distance to the fuse box, whether the cable has to run through a wall or underground, and which charger you choose. Our hourly rate for an electrician is SEK 700 including VAT, plus materials and a call-out fee. The call-out fee depends on how far we have to travel, but is usually around SEK 300. With the ROT deduction you reduce the labour cost by 30%. As a private individual you can choose the green technology tax deduction instead, which usually gives a larger deduction for an EV charger.

Frequently asked questions about EV chargers

What does it cost to install an EV charger?

Our hourly rate for an electrician is SEK 700 including VAT, plus materials and a call-out fee. A normal domestic installation usually takes half a day to a full day, depending on the distance to the fuse box. With the ROT deduction you reduce the labour cost by 30%. If you want a quick indication you can calculate your price here.

Can I use the ROT deduction for an EV charger?

Yes, the labour cost of installing an EV charger in your home qualifies for the ROT deduction of 30%. We deduct it directly on the invoice, so you only pay the net amount.

Could I just charge from an ordinary socket instead?

It works for the occasional charge, but an ordinary socket is not built for the sustained load that car charging involves — there is a real fire risk. A permanent charger charges faster, monitors the charging and is the safe option for daily use.

Do I need to upgrade the fuse box?

Sometimes. If the box has old screw fuses, lacks an RCD or is full, it often needs upgrading first. We go through this during the site visit and tell you before we start, so it never comes as a surprise on the invoice.
